To present the year in review of John Locke Foundation’s policy achievements, we expanded from a touchstone quote from “The Boys in the Boat,” a book of significant influence for our CEO. It helped us organize the document along the themes of teamwork and cooperation. It also inspired the design motif: watercolor gently evokes a sense of calm and ease resulting from the shared values of trust, respect, and humility. Our annual report is not only meant to be an informative and thorough documentation of Locke’s successes but also a central branding, marketing, and fundraising tool.
